As an Assistant Virtual Controller, Kaitlyn is passionate about supporting purpose-driven organizations on their path to financial liberation.
Kaitlyn was born and raised in Calgary, where she worked her first job at an Indigenous law firm. Eager to learn more about purpose-driven business, she moved to Vancouver to earn her Bachelor of Commerce at UBC, studied abroad at University College London in the UK, and completed her Graduate Diploma in Professional Accounting at the University of Toronto.
Kaitlyn has worked for various organizations in the impact space, including digital banking at Vancity Credit Union, conducting research at the UBC Sauder Centre for Social Innovation & Impact Investing, coaching future climate leaders at Voiz Academy, and sustainability consulting at Bespoke ESG. Prior to joining Humanity, she worked as a Senior Accountant at KPMG Vancouver, where she audited a wide range of non-profits and private enterprises and earned her CPA designation.
Outside of work, she enjoys thrifting, listening to podcasts, going to spin classes, running a monthly book club, and writing about climate and social justice.
Being an activist accountant is about so much more than just numbers: it’s about using finance as a tool to build a liberated world together.
